EXCLUSIVE — “BOT-FARMING SCANDAL: ARTISTS WORLDWIDE LOSE MILLIONS IN STREAMS” – TIO NASON.

A growing trend in the music industry has artists and industry stakeholders sounding the alarm: bot-farming. Artists globally are reportedly losing millions of streams due to fake or paid views/streams. This practice not only undermines the integrity of music streaming platforms but also poses significant financial risks to artists.

According to reports, many artists have fallen victim to bot-farming schemes, resulting in substantial losses in stream counts and royalties. The issue raises questions about the authenticity of streaming metrics and the impact on artists’ livelihoods.

As the music industry continues to evolve, it’s essential to address this issue and ensure that streaming platforms prioritize fairness and transparency.

Singer and songwriter, Tio Nason shared the following message on his socials addressing this issue.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of reports on Artists around the world losing Millions of Streams due to Bot-farming (paying for views/streams)

Sadly it has become an industry standard, even labels do it for their signed artists.

Here’s my take on it, the question is what’s more important to you as an artist? If numbers and perception are the most important thing to you, then you won’t care that it’s all fake, but you’ll always have to spend copius amounts of money to keep up the facade.

But if you’re the kind of artist that cares about authenticity and having a real fanbase, paying for streams will be such a crazy thing to you, because whats the use if those aren’t real people that are listening to your music?”
